Cadillac Championship: Doral Golf Tournament Guide

World-class golf returns to Miami. After a decade away, the PGA Tour comes back to Trump National Doral with the Cadillac Championship 2026, one of eight Signature Events of the season. From April 30 through May 3, the world’s best 72 players will compete for a $20 million purse on the legendary Blue Monster.

If you’re thinking about attending, or simply want to know what to expect from this event, here’s everything you need to know.

The Blue Monster returns

Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster course hasn’t seen a PGA Tour event since 2016. This return marks the 56th Tour event on this course, one of the most iconic in professional golf history.

Designed by Dick Wilson, the Blue Monster is known for its demanding water hazards and dramatic closing stretch. The 18th hole, a 473-yard par-4 with water running down the entire left side and guarding the green, is considered one of the most intense finishing holes in professional golf.

Fourteen World Golf Hall of Fame members have won here, including Tiger Woods, who took the trophy four times between 2005 and 2013. With that history, the Cadillac Championship promises to be a golf spectacle at the highest level.

Who’s playing

As a Signature Event, the Cadillac Championship has a limited field of 72 players, all among the best in the world rankings. Expected participants include names like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, and Justin Rose.

With 700 FedExCup points on the line and $20 million in prize money, competition will be intense from day one.

Dates and schedule

The tournament runs from Wednesday April 30 through Sunday May 3, 2026.

Wednesday is the pro-am, where you can see the professionals playing alongside celebrities and sponsors. Official tournament rounds are Thursday through Sunday, with the cut after Friday’s round and the final round Sunday afternoon.

If you want to avoid the largest crowds, Thursday and Friday early morning are your best options. Saturday and Sunday, especially in the afternoon when the leader groups are on the course, is when energy is at its peak but also when it’s most crowded.

Getting there and parking

Trump National Doral is located at 4400 NW 87th Avenue in Doral, approximately 15 minutes west of Miami International Airport.

Event parking is sold separately from admission tickets. There are general and premium parking options, and passes sell out quickly for weekend days. If you’re planning to go Saturday or Sunday, buy your parking pass in advance.

Transportation alternatives include rideshare (Uber/Lyft have designated pickup/dropoff zones), shuttles from select locations, and taxis. If you’re coming from Miami Beach or Brickell, rideshare is probably your best option to avoid the parking headache.

Traffic in the Doral area will be significantly heavier than normal during tournament week. If you’re driving, give yourself extra time, especially for weekend afternoon rounds.

Tickets and experiences

General admission (grounds tickets) give you access to the entire course to follow players hole by hole. This is the most accessible way to enjoy the tournament and lets you get fairly close to the action, especially if you arrive early and position yourself well.

For an elevated experience, hospitality options include access to exclusive areas, premium food and beverage, and privileged views of key holes.

The 1962 Club is the tournament’s VVIP experience, featuring a daily rotation of Miami restaurants: MIKA Coral Gables, Miami Slice, Taikin, and Maple & Ash. If you’re looking to combine elite golf with Miami’s best hospitality, this is the option.

Tickets are available on Ticketmaster and the official Cadillac Championship website.

What to bring and what to expect

Dress code at golf tournaments is generally smart casual. Long pants or golf-style shorts, polo or dress shirt, and comfortable closed-toe shoes. No ripped jeans, tank tops, or sandals.

Miami weather in late April is typically hot and humid, with possible afternoon rain showers. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and consider a lightweight long-sleeve shirt for sun protection. A compact umbrella isn’t a bad idea.

Golf events require a lot of walking. The Blue Monster is over 7,700 yards, and if you plan to follow a specific group throughout their round, prepare for several miles of walking.

Cell phones are allowed but must be on silent at all times. No calls or alarms near players.

Insurance preparation for the tournament

Attending an event of this magnitude requires some preparation. Here’s what you should consider from the insurance side.

If you’re coming from outside Miami

Travel insurance is a smart consideration if you’re flying in for the tournament. It can cover flight cancellations, lost luggage, and medical emergencies while you’re away from home.

Florida has high medical costs, and if you don’t have coverage that applies out of state, a temporary travel policy can save you serious trouble.

Protect your golf equipment

If you’re bringing your own clubs to play on one of Doral’s other courses during your visit, make sure they’re covered.

Your homeowners or renters insurance generally covers personal belongings including sports equipment, but there are limits. If your clubs are worth more than $1,500 to $2,000, consider a “floater” or specific endorsement that covers the full value without a deductible.

Important tip: take photos of all your equipment before traveling and save them to your email or cloud storage. If you need to file a claim, having visual documentation speeds up the process significantly.

Prepare for traffic

The Doral area will have traffic volume well above normal. More cars on the road statistically means more possibility of accidents.

Before the tournament, check that your auto insurance is current. Confirm your liability limits and verify you have uninsured motorist coverage. Florida has one of the highest rates of uninsured drivers in the country.

If you’re renting a car, check what your personal policy covers when driving a rental vehicle. Rental coverage tends to be limited and expensive.

Beyond the tournament

The Cadillac Championship is more than golf. It’s a week of events, culinary experiences, and networking opportunities in one of Miami’s most exclusive settings.

If you’re planning to make this a long weekend, Trump National Doral has a hotel on the property, and there are lodging options throughout the Doral area, Miami Lakes, and west of the city.

For those who want to play golf in addition to watching the tournament, Doral has four courses including the Blue Monster (though it will be closed for the event). The resort’s other three courses may be available for guests.

The opportunity

It’s not often that a PGA Tour Signature Event comes to your city. The Cadillac Championship represents a unique opportunity to see the world’s best golfers competing on one of the sport’s most historic courses.

If you’re a golf fan, or simply want to experience a first-class sporting event, April 30 through May 3 at Trump National Doral is a date to mark on your calendar.
